Information Letter no. 27-2006

Dear Member Federations,

The Extraordinary Congress in Poznan did not yet decide on new Statutes but agreed  that it is necessary to update/reform our current Statutes/Interior Rules/Rules for the European Championships.

During the discussions a lot of arguments and other items to observe were brought to our attention and it was decided to ask all federations again to bring up their propositions which they would like to be included in a new version. We had asked you before to do this and we got very few replies.

As a deadline we set the 25.11.2006. Any comments or propositions should be emailed to the General Secretariate (secretariate@eurofencing.info).

It was also decided by the congress that a new working group should be established and the following federations were asked by voting to nominate a specialist: Italy, France, Germany, Finland, and Hungary. This working group will be chaired by the President of the EFC/CEE, Alisher Usmanov, or his representative. The President will also nominate two COMEX members to join this group.

The working group will then incorporate your suggestions into a new project which will be finally decided on at the next congress in Gent 2007. The congress in Poznan gave the power to do this exceptionally during this next Congress.

Some federations also mentioned that they have not received the minutes from the Congress in Izmir which we sent out with our information letter no. 24-2006. Please double check again with your incoming emails and you will find the minutes from Izmir. If you still need these minutes contact us and we can resend you the mail.
