Dear Member Federations,

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you about the death of one of our veterans fencer

Mr. Ivo Van Seters (BEL)

who died on 9^th May 2008 at the age of 62 years just before the start of the European Veterans Team Championships in Ciudad Real where he was supposed to be the Belgian referee for the épée events. With a heart collapse in the fencing arena ended a life dedicated since many years to veterans fencing.

Together with Rudy Coessens he organised both European Veterans Championships in Liège 1993 and Antwerpen 2002. And in the last year he created the website of the Belgian veterans which got quite a lot of attention.

The European Fencing Confederation and its Veterans Commission sends its deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Ivo and to the Fencing Federation of Belgium, including the EVBVS.
