The first day of European Fencing Championship has passed. In this very first day the two competitions, Men's Foil Individual and Ladies Sabre individual took place. The first titles of European Champion took the foilist KROEPLIN Moritz (GER) who passed smoothly through the whole competition and russian fencer EGORIAN Yana (RUS).

More than 487 young sportsmen from 33 European countries will participate in the events.

The organizers of the competition –The Russian Fencing Federation and the Fencing Federation of Moscow Region with the active participation of municipal district Lobnya have put all the efforts to provide the carrying  out of the championship on due level.

The  sponsors are the Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy, The Committee physical  culture,  sports and tourism of Moscow region. 

The member countries of Junior European Championship are:  Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain,  Greece, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Latvia, Luxembourg, The Netherlands(Holland), Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia,  Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Russian Federation.

The foil event run to 65 fencers among which the Great Britain showed to prevail with 3 fencers in the top eight finalists. Another two countries were also successful: Germany (with their fresh european champion Moritz Kroeplin and additional finalists Andre Sanita) and Poland (with silver medallist Maciej Wlosek and Piotr Janda who took 8. place)

In the saber event 35 ladies fought for the title and as mentioned above the 2010 european champion title remains in the hosting country.
