Fencing coach course for women in Budapest 7.-14.1.2012

Thanks to FIE support EFC had the possibility to organize fencing coach course for women
only. Support from president Frantisek Janda was also really important. The place was
Zoltan Bernat fencing center in Budapest.

23 coaches from 14 countries were present. 14-16 coaches in both weapon, so quite many
participated with both weapons. The countries were: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark,
Finland, Georgia, Greece, Ireland, Macedonia, Norway, Latvia, Liethuania, Slovenia and
Sweden.
Women and Sport Council president Marja-Liisa Someroja was also present. It was
good for her to see, how this works in reality. Octavian Zidaru is very clear as a
teacher. He is patient to go through the program , which he had planned, to show details
many times as long as he can see that everybody understands.
The teacher in foil was Zoltan Bernat. He had Adam as interpreter.

One week period was good for woman coaches. It was possible for them to organize home
and work for one week. Often two weeks would be too difficult. And coaches really
learned much during the week. They were eager to go home and start working with new ideas!

The participants were also very active during the course. They made their own site:
www.tryitnow.info/fencing , but you need a password for that. From there they can find
the theory material, photos and many many videos.

Everything went fluently, transports and extra programs like opera and folklore evening
and sightseeing tour. The restaurant was very nice and friendly too and food was good
for sportmen..
We hope this could be possible to organize also another time, there are more women, who
would like to do the course too.
