Russian fencers dominated the second day of championship, taking 5 medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze) leaving the rest of the medallists (Italy, Hungary, Germany) far behind.
YAKOVLEVA Diana, IVANOVA Anastasia and GAFURZIANOVA Kamilla took over the control of the women's foil in Kazan, getting first three places in the competition. The final four was completed by a German fencer MERKL Roxanne.
The men's saber was also mainly in the hands of the local fencers, but the Italy (2nd place GIANI Amadeo) and Hungary (3rd place RAVASZ Etele) also took their places. The best U23 European saber fencer showed up to be Kamill IBRAGIMOV (RUS).
