Espoo Fencing Challenge was arranged for the third time and the number of participants again slightly increased.

The total of 183 fencers from 21 countries participated in the ECC U17 epee competitions with travelers also from far -Singapore, Japan and China. During the weekend also an EFC U14 Circuit was oraganized.

In the ECC women's epee final Luise Elmer from Australia beat Carmen-Lii TARGAMAA from Estonia. In men´s epee final Roman Fedorov from Russia beat Maksim Serhovets from Estonia.

The winners in the teams events were Japan and Russia. All the places were fenced for in the teams competitions.

Before the competition started the EFC referee seminar was arranged by EFC Referee Delegate Martina Ganassin.
