Increasing the quality of Weapon control
In a continuous effort of enhancing overall quality of organization of major events former EFC-Semi President Pascal Tesch (LUX) started to organize seminars for Weapon control.
The first seminar took place in Maribor prior to the 2015 cadets and junior European championship.
Thereafter seminars were given in Novi-Sad, Minsk and Tbilisi all hosting major EFC-Events.
“It is vital to understand that safety is a process and not a status” stressed Pascal Tesch, adding “I am happy to acknowledge that the Organization Committees in various countries gathered large numbers of volunteers committed to fencing that are supporting our efforts to make fencing even safer”.
After passing the pilot stage during the previous Comex, Tesch’s successor in EFC-Semi Etienne Van Cann is determined to continue this project. “EFC shall support the organizers, the rules evolve quickly and even for experienced organizers these seminars are important” says Van Cann.
Talks are ongoing to organize seminars in the upcoming host cities.
