The fifth day of the European Fencing Senior Championships in Basel showcased exceptional skill and determination as France dominated both team events, securing gold medals in women's sabre and men's epee.

In the women's sabre event, the French team of Manon Apithy-Brunet, Sarah Noutcha, Cecilia Berder, and Caroline Queroli delivered a stunning performance to clinch the gold medal. The Ukrainian team, led by Olena Kravatska, Yuliia Bakastova, Alina Komashchuk, and Olga Kharlan, fought valiantly to earn the silver medal. Spain, represented by Araceli Navarro, Lucia Martin-Portugues, Celia Perez Cuenca, and Elena Hernandez, showcased their resilience to secure the bronze.

The men's epee team competition saw another French victory with Luidgi Midelton, Romain Cannone, Alexandre Bardenet, and Paul Allegre leading the charge. Italy, with strong performances from Davide Di Veroli, Federico Vismara, and Gabriele Cimini, took home the silver medal. Spain, featuring Yulen-Alexander Pereira-Ramos, Gerard Gonell, Juan Pedro Romero, and Eugeni Gavalda, completed the podium by capturing the bronze.

Despite not qualifying for the Paris Olympics as teams, both Spanish squads made themselves a good gift for the end of this season by taking home two bronze medals today.
