This morning the continental event 2023 was presented at the competition venue

This morning, at the Tallink Tennis Centre of Tallinn, the competition venue, the press conference to present the Cadet and Junior European Fencing Championships 2023 took place.

The presentation of the event saw the partcipation of local representatives: in fact, the Vice Major Vadim Belobrovtsev, The Ministry of Culture, Sport Department representative Margus Klaan, the President of the European Fencing Confederation Giorgio Scarso, the plurimedal and Olympic Team Champion Irina Embrich, and the Estonian Junior Epee athlete Erik Tobias attended

The President Giorgio Scarso expressed his congratulations and thanks to the Political and administrative authorities of the Government of Estonia and the City of Tallinn: "Thanks and congratulations  to the President of the organizing committee and to the  Fencing Federation of Estonia for organizing this moment of meeting with the press which is a form of making known and underlining the importance of the event and the efforts made by the Estonian  sports system in favor of young Europeans".

The President, who underlined the importance of sport and, in particular of fencing, which is the main testimonial of his values, also added: "The European Confederation that thanks Estonia for the welcome it reserves to fencing is certain that the athletes who will take to the piste will be able to honor the Championships, and will do so believing in the same ideals and with the same emotions with which the swordswomen of this country at the Tokyo Olympics brought to this beautiful country the gold medal in the women's team epee. I thank on behalf of the Confederation, the Federations present, the athletes and the workers all those who have worked and who will work to make the splendid facility available, which will welcome the "best of European youth".

Finally, as we prepare to live days full of enthusiasm, joy, emotions, and expectations, I want to address a thought to the young Turks, for the terrible tragedy that struck their country with the earthquake; to the young Ukrainians for what they are suffering because of the war that has devastated their country and their families, and to the young people in to which for the responsibility of their governors is precluded the possibility of living these days of true sport.”
