Novi Sad EFC Congress

The annual EFC Congress took place prior to the European Fencing Championships in Novi Sad


Following his election as president of Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov had appealed to the FIE ethical commission to enquire whether the position as president of the EFC combined with the presidency of ROC could beseen as conflict of interest.

The FIE ethical commission clearly stated that this double presidency is not to be seen as conflict of interest.

During the congress the delegates accepted the latest minutes as well as the financial reports of 2017.

The newly appointed legal commission had proposed some changes to statutes and internal rules that were unanimously accepted.

The delegates also accepted to raise the license's fee from 15 to 20 EUR starting from the 2018/2019 season.

Elections were then held to designate the host cities of some major EFC events:

Senior Championships:

              2019 :   Düsseldorf (GER): 17-22.06.2019
              2020 :   Minsk (BLR)


              2019 :   Plovdiv (BUL): 29.05-2.06.2019
              2020 :   Liberec (CZE)             

Cadets and Junior:

              2020 :   Porec (CRO)

The next congresses will be in:

              Düsseldorf :       16.06.2019
              Sochi :                12.09.2019 (elective Congress)


The congress also decided to fix the entry fees for EFC-championships to 130€ per individual and 300€ per team.
