Spectacular End to the European Youth Fencing Festival in Budapest

The European Youth Fencing Festival in Budapest concluded today, showcasing the exceptional talents of young fencers across Europe. The second and final day of the festival featured intense competitions in Men's Epée, Men's Foil, and Women's Sabre, bringing together athletes from diverse backgrounds in a celebration of skill and sportsmanship.
In the U14 Men's Epée event, Iskender Yigit Tiftik of Turkey emerged victorious with a remarkable performance. Bence Simon from Hungary secured the second place, demonstrating impressive resilience and technique. The third place was shared by Kristian Husemoen-Zhang of Norway and Hungary's Daniel Jecsi, highlighting the high level of competition among the participants.
The U14 Men's Foil category saw Italy's Luca Guidi clinch the gold medal with a masterful display of skill. Abel Elod Laszlo from Hungary earned the silver, showcasing strong technical prowess. Tymon Galeziewski of Poland and Filip Efros both delivered outstanding performances, earning them the bronze medals.
In the U14 Women's Sabre event, Bulgaria's Ralitsa Gadzheva took the top podium spot with her swift and decisive strikes. Luisa Paulsen of Germany claimed the silver medal, while Hungary's Emilia Szepesi and Turkey's Elif Zeren Essiz both secured the bronze, underscoring the fierce competition and high level of talent among the young fencers.
The festival concluded with a final medals ceremony, celebrating the achievements of all participants. This historic event, initiated by the President of the European Fencing Confederation, Giorgio Scarso, and endorsed by the COMEX, has been a resounding success, bringing together 375 athletes from 25 countries in a true display of unity and sportsmanship.
