Stanislav Pozdnyakov to head Russian Olympic Committee
EFC President and four times Olympic Champion Stanislav Pozdnyakov was elected president of the Russian Olympic Committee. Pozdnyakov, who had served as the committee’s first vice-president since 2016, led the Russian delegation at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. In the ballot he prevailed over swimming legend Alexander Popov. After the elections Pozdnyakov said the committee would focus on retrieving the trust of the international sports community.
