A Weekend of Youth Épée in Thessaloniki
The Greek city of Thessaloniki successfully hosted the EFC U14 and U23 Épée Circuits on 13–14 December 2025, welcoming 268 athletes from 25 nations for a weekend of high-level European youth fencing. Across two intense days, the competition confirmed the strong depth of European épée and the growing quality of the next generation.
U23 Men’s Épée – A Strong Finish
In the U23 men’s individual épée, Oliver Laasik of Estonia claimed the gold medal after a composed and consistent performance throughout the competition. Vasileios Tsokas of Greece delighted the home crowd by securing second place, while the bronze medals were won by Riccardo Cedrone of Italy and Cheney Zhu of British fencing, completing a highly competitive podium.
U23 Women’s Épée – Greek Gold at Home
The U23 women’s competition ended with a home victory, as Andriana Theodoropoulou (GRE) claimed gold in Thessaloniki. Maria Embrich (EST) earned second place, while bronze medals were shared by Ariadni Naskari (GRE) and Nina Fabre Giancola (FRA), reflecting the strong international presence in the category.
U14 Men’s Épée – Home Success Continues
Greek fencers dominated the U14 men’s épée event, with Christos Pappas (GRE) taking first place and Rafail Lazou (GRE) finishing second. The bronze medals went to Pawel Roguski (POL) and Andrei Stoica (ROU), underlining the competitive balance among Europe’s youngest épée talents.
U14 Women’s Épée – International Podium
In the U14 women’s event, Aya Lasovski Lipka (ISR) captured gold after an impressive performance throughout the competition. Pigi Kyrimi (GRE) secured second place for the hosts, while Bulgaria celebrated a double bronze thanks to Iva Stoyanova (BUL) and Radostina Kurtakova (BUL).
