Witold Woyda’s Foil Celebrates Talent

A weekend of cadet foil in Warsaw

Arena Ursynów welcomed young foilists from across the globe for the 17th Witold Woyda’s Foil and the 15th Golden Team Cup. The event, part of the EFC Cadet Circuit, once again offered an important stage for cadet men’s foil, combining individual and team formats in two days of high-level fencing.

Individual competition highlights

Saturday, 27 September, was dedicated to the individual tournament. After a day of intense fencing, Ziyu Wang of the United States secured the gold medal. His compatriot Lucas Senic, also representing the USA, took silver. Bronze medals went to Jason Qian (USA) and Adham Eldeeb of Qatar, underlining the international spirit of the event.

Team event closes the tournament

On Sunday, 28 September, the focus shifted to teamwork and strategy. The gold medal went to United States of America 1, represented by Lucas Senic, Ziyu Wang, Kyle Chen, and Bradley Li. Silver was won by China with Youlong Lin, Nuo Chen, and Youshi Lu. The bronze medal was claimed by United States of America 4, composed of Matthew Cortright, Diego Fukuda, and Derek Liu.

Honouring Witold Woyda’s legacy

The tournament carries the name of Poland’s Olympic champion Witold Woyda and remains a meeting point for the future of fencing, where cadet fencers gain valuable experience on the international stage.
