Young Fencing Stars Shine at U14 European Circuits

This past weekend, November 2-3, 2024, saw an incredible display of skill and determination from young athletes across Europe at the U14 European Circuit in Riga and the FLORETA CUP in Timisoara.

In Riga, the U14 European Circuit brought together 52 participants in the Men’s Épée category and 43 in the Women’s Épée category. The Men’s Épée competition concluded with an impressive victory by Krzysztof Sadowy from Poland, followed by Tomas Popela from the Czech Republic securing second place. The third place was shared by Ekke Patriarca from Estonia and Alexander Morch Hellkas from Norway, showcasing the depth of talent in this age group. In the Women’s Épée, Estonia demonstrated their strength with Elisabeth Novosjolova claiming first place, Johanna Pukson finishing second, and Anete Kulaots and Anna-Rebecca Rosen sharing third place, solidifying Estonia’s dominance in this discipline. Meanwhile, in Timisoara, the FLORETA CUP featured fierce competition in the U14 Men’s and Women’s Foil categories. In the Men’s Foil, Filip Efros from Romania captured the top spot, with Lorand Kosztolanyi from Hungary taking second place. Third place was shared by Matei Lita and Horia Felecan, both representing Romania, marking a strong showing for the host country. The Women’s Foil competition saw Delia Stefania Marin from Romania triumph as champion, with Dalma Spissak from Hungary securing second place. Third place was shared by Sofiia Garanina from Cyprus and Antonia Stanescu from Romania, highlighting the talent spread across different nations.
